03-05-5002 Same same, but different - A culinary journey from North India to Sri Lanka

Language and food are excellent vehicles to get into contact with foreign cultures. In this unique course the participants are kindly invited to join the course instructor on his three part journey from North India to South India, ending the trip in Sri Lanka.

In the conversational part of each course we will talk about the geographical, cultural and especially culinary characteristics of each area.  You may share your own experiences with Indian or Sri Lankan culture - if available - and work on your fluency in speaking English. The course will be supplemented by visual material and samples you can smell, touch and eat so you can experience India and Sri Lanka with all your senses.

To satisfy the palate even further, we will then dive practically into the respective country cuisines: Creamy Curries and hearty bread varieties in North India,  (Masala) Dosa and Idli served with Sambhar and different chutneys in South India and finally Sri Lankan classics like (Egg) Hoppers, served with Pol Sambol, Dal Vada (lentils snack), Polos Curry (jackfruit) and Wambatu Moju (fried eggplants).

All three courses are vegetarian and open to participants from language level English B1 and higher.
